Filmed at locations in Arles, France – The Rhône River (where Van Gogh painted “Starry Night Over the Rhône”), the sunflower fields (he painted various paintings of sunflowers), Hospital at Arles (Van Gogh was hospitalized there in 1888 and 1889), Saint-Trophime Primatial Catholic Church and the streets of Arles – where Van Gogh lived for a little over a year of his life. This is also where he cut of his ear, after an argument with fellow painter Paul Gauguin.
